The United States carried out airstrikes on Sunday intended to swiftly punish Iran for the first American military fatalities since renewed hostilities began, according to Bloomberg. Washington confirmed the death of an additional U.S. service member in northern Iraq, killed during the controlled detonation of a downed Iranian drone. Separately, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported locating unidentified remains in Jordan, where a prior Iranian attack left two American troops dead and one missing in action.
