U.S. Deploys Disaster Response Advisor and Provides $500,000 in Aid for Nepal Floods

The United States has expressed its deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of those who perished in the devastating flash floods that struck Nepal’s Rasuwa district. Our thoughts remain with all those affected by this tragedy.

The State Department is closely monitoring the developing situation and is deploying a disaster response advisor to the region to bolster ongoing relief efforts. Additionally, the Department will provide $500,000 in emergency assistance through a partnership with Catholic Relief Services. This funding will support emergency shelter, essential relief items, and critical water, sanitation, and hygiene services for affected communities.

The U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu is coordinating closely with local authorities to locate and assist American citizens in the affected regions.
