Traders today examined the NY Empire State Manufacturing Index report, which revealed a decline from 20.6 in August to 7.6 in September, falling short of the analyst forecast of 14.75. Despite this miss, the report had little impact on market dynamics, as investor attention remained firmly focused on the upcoming Federal Reserve decision.

Currently, the U.S. Dollar Index is attempting to stabilize above the 99.50 level. A successful breakout could propel the index toward resistance at 99.85 – 100.00. Conversely, a drop below the support zone of 99.25 – 99.40 would expose the index to a test of its 50-day moving average at 99.08.
