Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Manila, Philippines from July 19‑23 to attend the ASEAN Post‑Ministerial Conference, the East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, and the ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. He will also hold talks with senior officials from various Indo‑Pacific nations.
The trip underscores a core U.S. objective: fostering a free and open Indo‑Pacific that promotes safety, security, and prosperity for the region and the American people.
During his visit, Secretary Rubio will highlight the concrete outcomes of the U.S.–ASEAN partnership and work to deepen the comprehensive relationship between the United States and the Philippines.
