A recent Nikkei study reveals that hidden debt among U.S. technology companies has risen eightfold over four years, reaching an estimated $1.65 trillion, driven largely by surging AI‑related investments and off‑balance‑sheet financing. This figure surpasses disclosed liabilities and complicates risk assessment for investors.
