The International Jewish Anti‑Zionist Network’s UK branch, together with allied activist groups, staged a demonstration outside the Charity Commission headquarters in London on Wednesday, urging the regulator to review, penalize, or withdraw the charitable status of the Jewish National Fund (JNF) UK and other Jewish organisations alleged to fund projects, acquire land, and develop property in the West Bank.
During remarks delivered on the steps of the government complex and across social‑media posts promoting the protest, organizers and participants accused the Charity Commission of “systemic inaction,” alleging that the body had “consistently declined to investigate or sanction charities that support illegal displacement and foreign military programmes.”
Speakers highlighted the JNF’s historical significance and contemporary activities, emphasizing banners that referenced “metrics of land ownership and financial transfers directed toward unauthorized development in the West Bank.”
The protest also linked the demonstration to recent local community events that organizers claimed, via promotional social‑media material and speeches, had “facilitated transactions involving disputed territories.”
Activists specifically targeted a “Great Israeli Real Estate” exhibition that was previously held at Edgware United Synagogue in June. The annual showcase presents real‑estate properties for sale in Israel, including sites in the West Bank.
Organizers contended, both in online statements and during the demonstration, that venues hosting such property exhibitions serve as “platforms for selling land in historic areas and illegal settlements.”
Throughout the rally, speakers charged UK authorities with “enabling displacement and regional conflict” through what they described as passive regulatory oversight.
A spokesperson for JNF UK told The Jerusalem Post, “JNF UK will not be distracted or deterred by those who seek to stop us from carrying out our vital charitable work.”
