Footage shows demonstrators lying on the pavement as officers lift and carry them to a police van, while others hold placards. Authorities report that 25 individuals have been taken into custody on suspicion of supporting a designated terrorist organization under the Terrorism Act, with more arrests anticipated.
The case originated from a legal challenge mounted by Palestine Action co‑founder Huda Ammori, who aims to overturn the group’s terrorist designation. The court heard that this is the first instance among 98 proscribed groups to be banned exclusively for causing significant property damage, rather than for advocating violence against individuals.
To date, over 4,000 arrests have been made under the prohibition, including 325 outside the US embassy on 31 October. If the appeal succeeds, related charges could be impacted.
