The United Kingdom will designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization and impose sanctions on the elite paramilitary force that is tightening its grip over the nation.
The decision follows U.K. authorities’ findings that the IRGC and its affiliated groups have been linked to a series of violent plots on British soil, including bombings and assassination attempts aimed at Iranian journalists and activists residing in the country.
