A UN independent commission reported Tuesday that the Israeli military deliberately targeted children in Gaza, constituting genocide, and committed war crimes in the West Bank.
The three-member commission of inquiry, chaired by former Indian judge Srinivasan Muralidhar, urged international organizations to hold Israeli officials accountable. In its September findings, the panel concluded that Israel’s military campaign in Gaza met the legal definition of genocide, a view increasingly shared by genocide scholars, including some Israeli academics and human‑rights groups.
