GENEVA, May 29 (Reuters) – The United Nations children’s agency states that an average of 11 minors have suffered fatal injuries or wounds daily over the past seven days in Lebanon, as hostilities persist despite an official ceasefire.
Intensive Israeli airstrikes targeted residential areas and villages in southern Lebanon during the overnight period from Wednesday to Thursday, following Israel’s designation of additional regions as active combat zones.
Specifically on Thursday, an Israeli bombardment struck a residential structure in Beirut’s southern suburbs while a fragile ceasefire agreement remained unenforced, highlighting the ongoing conflict between Israeli military forces and Hezbollah factions in southern Lebanon.
