The United Nations reported on Thursday that approximately 3,000 Palestinians continue to be displaced from two neighborhoods in the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, according to figures cited by Anadolu.
During a press briefing, UN spokesperson Shirin Yaseen conveyed information from humanitarian partners, stating that “about 3,000 Palestinians remain displaced from two neighborhoods in Hebron city, based on the most recent data provided by the local municipality.”
She noted that “Israeli forces are still present in these areas, restricting access and imposing severe movement limitations throughout the region,” adding that “these operations are severely impacting Palestinians’ ability to access livelihoods, education, and essential services, including healthcare.”
Yaseen urged increased protection for Palestinian civilians across the West Bank, emphasizing the urgent need to restore normalcy and access to basic necessities.
When questioned about a recent report from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs indicating that 14 mosques have been vandalized by Israeli settlers this year, Yaseen described such acts as “clearly unacceptable.”
“Places of worship must remain secure, and freedom of religion must be upheld everywhere—not only in this region,” she affirmed.
