On behalf of the United States of America, I extend heartfelt congratulations to the Czech people as you commemorate the anniversary of your 1918 independence.
Our two nations share a deep commitment to building prosperity, upholding free speech, protecting liberty, and respecting national sovereignty. The Czech Republic stands as a capable and trusted security partner. Both of our countries recognize the importance of a strong NATO alliance, which will require increased defense investment over the coming decade to ensure every ally meets the agreed-upon targets.
American and Czech businesses continue to strengthen our commercial relationship by investing in each other’s markets and creating jobs for our respective workforces. Building on this growing economic momentum will help secure a more prosperous future for both Americans and Czechs. I wish all Czech citizens a memorable and joyous celebration.
