United States Honors Chile on Its National Day Anniversary

On behalf of the United States of America, I offer heartfelt congratulations to the people of Chile as they mark their National Day, celebrating the historic moment in 1810 that set them on the path to independence.

Our two nations are bound by centuries of trade, investment, and a shared commitment to building strong democracies that have delivered security and prosperity for both our peoples. Today, under the decisive leadership of President Kast, we are collaborating more closely than ever to confront transnational crime and address the challenges posed by unchecked illegal migration. Looking ahead, our countries are also working hand in hand to strengthen supply chains and drive forward critical scientific research.
