The United States and Iran have reached an emerging agreement that includes the dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program and the return of enriched nuclear materials to the US, according to a Reuters report citing a senior US official on Friday.
Under the terms disclosed by the official, Iran has committed to never developing nuclear weapons. The deal is designed to meet core US objectives and pave the way for regional stability, with the official expressing confidence that Israel will support the agreement once full details are shared.
The agreement encompasses the reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of US restrictions on Iranian ports, marking a significant milestone toward preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons capability.
Mediated by Pakistan, the finalized text aligns with both nations’ preferences and is expected to be signed within days, according to the official.
