US Immigration Authorities Deport Far-Right Figure Milo Yiannopoulos to United Kingdom

The social media personality was detained by immigration agents at an airport in New Orleans earlier in the week.

Milo Yiannopoulos, a prominent far-right commentator who previously clashed with other conservative content creators, has been deported to the United Kingdom following immigration violations, U.S. authorities confirmed.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced Yiannopoulos’s removal on Saturday, stating he had violated immigration laws by overstaying his authorized period of stay.

“He chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation’s laws,” the department wrote in a social media post announcing the arrest.

According to DHS, Yiannopoulos was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents while traveling through Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Louisiana on Thursday.

Yiannopoulos entered the United States through New York City in May 2019. After missing an immigration hearing earlier this year, a federal judge issued a final removal order on July 22.

In announcing Yiannopoulos’s detention, DHS urged noncitizens with expired visas to voluntarily depart the United States.

“We encourage every person here illegally to take advantage of this offer and reserve the chance to come back to the U.S. the right legal way to live the American dream,” the department stated. “If not, you will be arrested and deported without a chance to return.”

Yiannopoulos has not publicly commented on his deportation, with his social media account on X remaining inactive since his detention.

Previously, Yiannopoulos was a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump and advocated for large-scale deportations during Trump’s potential second term.

“Zero immigration for the next 20 years. No ifs, no buts,” Yiannopoulos posted on social media last year.

Known for his controversial views on feminism, immigration, and Islam, Yiannopoulos was reportedly in New Orleans this week working with musician Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.

Far-right activist and Trump associate Laura Loomer praised Yiannopoulos’s deportation, having previously called for his removal. The two have been engaged in public feuds for years.

“Milo is going to be deported back to the UK where he can live among the Muslims he has recently chosen to embrace,” Loomer wrote on social media Friday. “Today is a great day for America.”

Loomer also demanded the deportation of leftist streamer Hasan Piker, who has criticized Israel. Piker, however, is a U.S. citizen.

“DEPORT HASAN PIKER AND HIS TURKISH MOM NEXT!” she posted online.
