US Imposes New Visa Sanctions on Nicaraguan Dictatorship Officials Amid Brooklyn Rivera Case]
The United States is holding the Murillo-Ortega dictatorship accountable for the deadly treatment of political prisoner Brooklyn Rivera. US-sanctioned official Lumberto Campbell Hooker denied Rivera medical care and prevented his family from conducting proper burial rites.
The Trump Administration announced new visa restrictions targeting over 100 additional Nicaraguan government officials and their families. This brings the total number of sanctioned individuals to more than 2,350 for their role in supporting Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo’s authoritarian rule.
The United States stands with the Nicaraguan people who continue to demand freedom and democratic reforms.
