The White House announced Tuesday that the administration will prohibit imports of Canadian dairy, most alcoholic beverages, and motorcycles, marking a significant escalation in the trade dispute between the two neighboring nations.
According to the White House, the restrictions will take effect in three weeks. This action follows Canada’s imposition of retaliatory tariffs on $20 billion in U.S. imports earlier that day.
This development intensifies the trade conflict between two of North America’s largest economic partners, as both governments implement new measures despite their deeply integrated economies and long-standing commercial ties.
