US President Trump says US striking Iranian targets near Hormuz

President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social platform Tuesday that the United States is executing military operations against Iranian installations near the Strait of Hormuz. The strikes are substantial and precisely targeted, intended as formal retaliation for Tehran’s failed attempt to lay anti‑shipping mines across the strategically vital waterway—which officials confirm has been fully cleared of any devices. Additionally, the president noted that Iran launched a missile barrage of eight projectiles, all of which were successfully neutralized by defensive systems at a U.S. forward operating base in Jordan.
