Left‑arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma took six wickets for 52 runs on the second day of the unofficial Test in Mohali, giving India A Women an 188‑run first‑innings lead after bowling Australia A Women out for 176. By day’s end, India A had extended their advantage to 322 runs, with Priya Punia’s half‑century in the second innings bolstering the total.

Having taken two wickets in the sole T20 and eight in three one‑day matches, Vaishnavi ignited Australia A’s collapse in the four‑day fixture, claiming six of the final eight dismissals as the batting side failed to capitalize on a strong start.

Offspinner Niki Prasad broke the 66‑run opening partnership by dismissing Tahlia Wilson, and later removed Rachel Trenaman after nine overs.

Vaishnavi partnered with fellow left‑arm spinner Shuchi Upadhyay, who took two wickets as Australia A collapsed to 5 for 28.

India A began at 351 for 9, and Prasad and Upadhyay contributed a further 13 runs before Prasad, dismissed for 91, fell to offspinner Lilly Mills for her fourth wicket.

In reply, Australia A’s batters could not exploit a promising start, and the bowlers took over. Punia added 60 with Shubha Satheesh and 74 with Yastika Bhatia, pushing India A to 134 for 2 at stumps. She was out for 59 in the final over, with Mills taking both wickets.
