The ‘King of the Street’ lowrider parade drew thousands of enthusiasts to Mission Street in San Francisco, California. The vibrant event showcased customized vehicles performing impressive maneuvers, including hops and cruises with a wheel lifted off the ground.
Over 300 hand-crafted lowriders from across California participated, highlighting the depth of Chicano craftsmanship and the significance of Latino identity.
This parade takes place two years after California lifted its longstanding ban on lowrider parades, marking a resurgence of the cultural tradition.
According to participants, the cars symbolize hard work and offer young people a positive pathway. Moreover, there is a growing trend of women taking roles in building and driving their own lowriders.
