Village Farms International, Inc. (VFF, VFF.TO) announced the immediate appointment of Hamid Shekarchi as interim Chief Financial Officer, according to RTTNews.
The appointment follows the completion of a comprehensive search process that was part of the company’s previously announced CFO succession plan, disclosed on April 3, 2026.
Previously, he held the role of CFO for the company’s Canadian cannabis operations, managing finance, accounting, and IT. Shekarchi also played a key role in merging Pure Sunfarms and Rose LifeScience and contributed to the rapid expansion of the firm’s international export activities.
Prior to joining Pure Sunfarms in 2021, Hamid co‑led BDO’s Western Canada Cannabis practice, providing business valuations across North America and Europe.
During pre‑market trading on Nasdaq, Village Farms shares were down 0.34 percent at $2.96, following a 1.98 percent decline in the previous session.
