Vivek Ramaswamy, the Republican candidate for Ohio governor, drew significant criticism Wednesday following the release of a political advertisement featuring Amy Acton’s estranged mother, whose late husband was controversially linked to abuse allegations against Acton during her childhood.
Acton has not maintained contact with her mother, Donna Arthur, since her youth, when she publicly accused her stepfather of prolonged sexual abuse.
In the advertisement, Arthur makes explicit claims that her daughter has “lied her entire life.”
“Don’t let her become your governor. If you think she’ll make your life better, you’re fooling yourself,” Arthur states in the ad.
