Wales could still avoid relegation from League A even if they finish bottom of their group.
A format adjustment for the 2028-29 Nations League means fewer teams will be dropped from the top tier this edition.
Previously, the bottom team in each of the four League A groups was automatically relegated, with the four third-placed sides facing League B runners-up in a relegation/promotion play-off.
Now, only the two lowest-ranked bottom teams will be relegated, while the remaining pair will contest two-legged play-offs in March 2027.
The two best third-placed sides are guaranteed to stay in League A, and the next two will enter the play-offs.
Standings are determined by points, goal difference, and standard tie-breaking criteria.
Wales currently top the list of fourth-placed teams, and a win over Denmark would greatly boost their chances of skipping the play-offs altogether.
It would also keep alive their hopes of finishing second and reaching next spring’s Nations League knockout rounds, which include two-legged quarter-finals in March.
