Walmart announced on Tuesday that it is introducing a new membership bundle that provides shoppers with access to both Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus for $120 per year. This combined offering represents a significant savings of nearly $100 compared to purchasing the two memberships separately.
The bundle is structured as an annual membership priced at the equivalent of $10 per month, though Walmart noted that it will not be available as a monthly subscription or include a free trial. The launch follows the company’s report of continued growth in its membership and e-commerce sectors during its most recent quarterly results in August.
Walmart said the combined membership costs almost $100 less annually than paying for Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus separately.
During the company’s second-quarter fiscal 2027 earnings call on Aug. 20, Doug Furner, president and CEO of Walmart U.S., highlighted that membership fee revenue increased by 17% to reach an all-time high. “Marketplace, fulfillment services, membership, advertising, and other commerce solutions are strengthening our business and improving the economics of the company,” Furner stated. He added that Walmart+ membership grew by double digits during the quarter, while Sam’s Club membership showed growth in the U.S., China, and Mexico.
Currently, Walmart+ costs $98 annually for the standard plan, and Sam’s Club Plus costs $120 per year. The new bundle directly competes with Amazon Prime, which is priced at $139 annually.
Members of the combined program will receive benefits from both platforms, including free delivery from Walmart and Sam’s Club, access to Sam’s Club locations and member-only pricing, a choice between Peacock and Paramount+, gas discounts, and 2% Sam’s Cash on eligible purchases.
Annual Walmart+ members can add Sam’s Club Plus for an additional $22 per year. Meanwhile, existing Sam’s Club members can upgrade to Plus for $60 and receive Walmart+ at no extra cost. Current Sam’s Club Plus members will be able to activate Walmart+ at no additional charge.
Walmart also announced that U.S. field associates at both Walmart and Sam’s Club will receive access to both memberships as part of their employee benefits.
The new offering arrives as consumers continue to face higher prices. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ consumer price index, inflation climbed 3.7% in September compared to a year earlier. Gasoline prices rose more than 34% over the past year, while grocery prices increased by 1.8%.
