The United States will convene delegations from Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi on November 10‑11 to discuss ending Russia’s war in Ukraine, post‑war security arrangements, and de‑escalation, according to US envoy Steve Witkoff.

US negotiators have been working to achieve a breakthrough in the protracted conflict before winter arrives. The most recent US‑facilitated peace talks were held in February, prior to the United States and Israel initiating a war against Iran.

In a social‑media post, Witkoff noted that the upcoming Abu Dhabi talks will address post‑war security agreements, de‑escalation measures, humanitarian assistance, and the cessation of hostilities.

Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the chief US negotiators, are expected to represent the United States in Abu Dhabi, a senior US official told Reuters.

Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to a new round of trilateral talks after meeting with Witkoff in St. Petersburg two weeks ago, marking the latest US effort to halt Europe’s deadliest conflict since World War II.

The official said American negotiators will meet at working level this week in Brussels with representatives from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union and NATO to discuss Ukraine’s security guarantees, Europe’s future security framework, and economic support for Ukraine’s reconstruction.

The official added that the meetings build on recent discussions among the parties and reflect President Trump’s ongoing efforts to secure a lasting peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

Ukraine and Russia remain far apart on the terms of any potential peace deal, even as President Trump has recently increased pressure on Ukraine to reach an agreement.
