Wendy’s has released a new emo EP featuring contributions from Silverstein, Memphis May Fire, and other artists.
Earlier this month, the fast‑food chain hinted at an emo‑themed reveal by unveiling a redesigned logo: the iconic red‑haired girl now sports heavy eyeliner, her hair obscures one eye, and her customary pigtail ribbons have been replaced with black bands.
The chain has now released the EP, which contains six original tracks created specifically for the collaboration. The songs blend fast‑food motifs—burgers, fries, and the like—with classic emo lyrical themes.
Featured on the EP, titled “Songs to Listen to in a Wendy’s Parking Lot,” are vocalists from blessthefall, State Champs, Memphis May Fire, Anberlin, Holy Wars, and Silverstein. Track names include “The Best Combo Meal on the Worst Night of My Life” and “She Said She Didn’t Want Fries.”
According to outlets such as Consequence, the EP is part of a new partnership between Wendy’s and Rise Records, and additional contributors include Kat Leon, Matty Mullins, Shane Told, Derek DiScanio, and Chloe Kinnon. You can listen to the EP above.
Wendy’s social media team has previously engaged with the music scene; in 2019 they teased bands such as Beartooth, Papa Roach, Memphis May Fire, and GWAR as part of #NationalRoastDay, according to Consequence.
They also commented when Jeff Bezos and Blue Origin launched Katy Perry into space, posting on X/Twitter: “When we said women in STEM, this isn’t what we meant,” and jokingly inquiring whether Perry could be sent back to orbit.
The company also tapped Ice Spice for a recent commercial, following the rapper’s widely shared McDonald’s altercation video earlier this year.
