Westlake Dominates with Rushing Prowess and Defensive Strength in 49-6 Victory Over Midland Lee

Both Patton Jones and Pete Fredenburg each threw and rushed for a touchdown, while CJ Jones contributed significantly with 81 rushing yards and a touchdown, plus a receiving touchdown as Westlake defeated Midland Lee 49-6 on Friday at Chaparral Stadium.

In their final nondistrict matchup, the Chaps (3-1) showcased a balanced offensive and defensive performance, rushing for 252 yards while limiting their opponents to just 194 total yards. Westlake built a commanding 42-0 lead by halftime and maintained control throughout the game.

Three additional Westlake players reached the end zone: Nash Chapman, Braden Riddell, and Chase Brodhead. The scoring sequence began with CJ Jones’ 9-yard rushing touchdown to open the game. Patton Jones followed with a 1-yard rushing score before connecting with Chapman on a 16-yard touchdown pass, extending the lead to 21-0 with under seven minutes remaining in the first half.

The second quarter featured touchdowns by Riddell (7 yards) and Brodhead (31 yards), with Fredenburg delivering an 18-yard touchdown pass to CJ Jones. Westlake’s dominance continued into the fourth quarter when Fredenburg added a 14-yard rushing touchdown, finalizing the 49-0 margin.

Patton Jones completed his performance with 106 passing yards. Westlake will next host Round Rock on Thursday to commence District 25-6A play.
