On Tuesday, wheat markets displayed mixed activity. Chicago SRW futures rose 3 to 4 cents, while KC HRW contracts gained 2 to 4 cents by midday. In contrast, Minneapolis spring wheat fell 3 to 4 cents.
According to the latest NASS Crop Progress report, only 27% of the winter wheat crop had been planted by Sunday, which is seven percentage points behind the five‑year average. Crop emergence stood at 8%.
NASS is set to publish its quarterly Grain Stocks report on Wednesday. A Reuters survey of analysts forecasts September 1 wheat stocks at 1.857 billion bushels, a decline of 277 million bushels from the same period last year if the projection holds.
A South Korean buyer has issued a tender for 100,000 metric tons of U.S. wheat, with bids due by Wednesday.
EU wheat exports from July 1 through September 27 totaled 6.81 million metric tons, according to EU Commission data—slightly higher than the 6.79 million tons recorded a year earlier. The commission also projects EU wheat stocks rising to 11.4 million metric tons, an increase of 0.1 million tons, while production remains steady at 124.2 million metric tons.
December 2026 CBOT wheat traded at $6.92½, up 3¾ cents.
March 2027 CBOT wheat was quoted at $7.06½, up 3 cents.
December 2026 KCBT wheat stood at $7.42, down 3¾ cents.
March 2027 KCBT wheat traded at $7.55, down 2¾ cents.
December 2026 MIAX wheat was at $6.98¼, down 3¼ cents.
March 2027 MIAX wheat traded at $7.19¼, down 3¼ cents.
