Widespread Arson Attacks Target Southern Thailand in Coordinated Insurgency Campaign

Military authorities report over 50 coordinated arson and incendiary attacks across Thailand’s insurgency-affected southern provinces, aimed at generating social unrest.

Two individuals sustained injuries following fires that destroyed a local government office, a convenience store, and a stolen vehicle.

The coordinated incidents occurred between 8:00 PM and midnight local time on Saturday across the southern border provinces, as confirmed by the military’s Internal Security Operations Command.

Primary impacts were concentrated in Narathiwat province, with additional attacks reported in neighboring Yala and Pattani provinces.

The Bangkok Post reported that a bomb explosion in Muang district of Narathiwat province injured two women.

Telecommunication infrastructure suffered significant damage with towers set ablaze at multiple locations. Security officials have urged residents to refrain from contacting suspicious objects.

An overnight curfew was imposed in Narathiwat province, subsequently lifted on Sunday morning. No additional attacks were reported on Sunday.
