The Chargers have endured a difficult 2026 season, falling to 0-7 after their most recent Sunday loss to the Rams.
A member of the team’s upcoming opponent, Texans defensive end Will Anderson, noted the strong play of Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.
Anderson praised Herbert during a Wednesday press conference, saying, “He remains a truly elite quarterback in this league. He’s a big, strong‑armed player who can move around, launch deep passes, and create plays with his legs. He’s still a highly respected player, and we have great respect for him. Schematically, we can expect a lot of movement. Chargers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel has faced our defense frequently, including coaching against it in San Francisco.”
While we anticipate some familiar tendencies, Herbert is operating at an extraordinary level. The Chargers boast a solid offensive line and talented running backs capable of powerful downhill runs and perimeter attacks, presenting a significant challenge for us.
Opinions on Anderson’s evaluation vary, but Herbert’s statistics this season stand out: he has completed 61.8% of his passes for 1,398 yards, five touchdowns, and a league‑leading 10 interceptions in 2026.
