WWEA new ring announcer made his debut for WWE’s Evolve show on August 19, which streamed on Tubi.
The event featured an Evolve Women’s Championship match, with Nikkita Lyons defending her title against Thea Hail.
For the title bout, a prominent in‑ring introduction was delivered by the newly appointed Evolve ring announcer, Ryan Katz.
Katz has a lengthy career in professional wrestling, having worked for WWE since 2013, though he was released in January 2022 and re‑signed that September.
He now serves as Director of NXT Creative Operations, overseeing the creative development of new talent at the WWE Performance Center, including coaching, program design, and production.
With more than 25 years in professional wrestling, Katz founded his own promotion in Denver and contributed to the creation of MTV’s Wrestling Society X, leveraging his energy and charisma across varied wrestling extremes.
He has appeared on reality and game shows, news programs, and even The Oprah Winfrey Show, consistently delivering his larger‑than‑life personality and enthusiasm.
Katz was hired as the WWE Performance Center’s first full‑time employee and trained under Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes.
He now imparts Dusty Rhodes’ knowledge and inspiration, guiding the next generation of WWE Superstars toward success on their individual creative journeys.
Lyons retained her Evolve Women’s Championship after interference from her ally Sloane Jacobs.
