Tiffany Stratton ultimately captured the Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase, and new details have surfaced regarding WWE’s creative direction leading up to the event.
According to a report from Fightful Select, sources familiar with WWE’s creative process indicated there were no significant changes to the Money in the Bank winners in the weeks preceding the show, though adjustments were made to other segments.
WWE’s longer-term creative direction had positioned Stratton as a challenger for Chelsea Green’s championship with the intention of eventually having her win the title, though those plans remained fluid.
One notable alteration involved a six-woman tag team match on SmackDown pitting Stratton, Jacy Jayne, and Lash Legend against Lola Vice, Roxanne Perez, and Sol Ruca. The original plan for the day of the show called for Vice, Perez, and Ruca to win; ultimately, Stratton’s team secured the victory.
The competitors in the Money in the Bank 2026 ladder match were reportedly informed of the outcome ahead of time. Sources indicated the women learned on Friday night—the evening before the event—that Stratton would win the briefcase.
Interestingly, the betting odds did not align with the eventual results. MyBookie listed Roxanne Perez and Bron Breakker as the favorites on the day of the event, while Lash Legend and PENTA had been favored earlier in the week.
In the end, Stratton and PENTA defied those expectations, walking away as the women’s and men’s Money in the Bank winners, respectively.
