The WWE roster departed Saudi Arabia shortly after the Crown Jewel event, well before a Houthi militia attacked the Riyadh financial district on Sunday, damaging an Aramco office tower, according to The New York Times.
PWInsider reports that the roster had already left before the attack occurred. Although some WWE staff remained in the city to dismantle the arena setup, there have been no reports of any WWE personnel being affected by the incident.
According to the report, most roster members arrived in Saudi Arabia through Bahrain and then traveled to Riyadh by bus. Sources believe that a few talents used private aircraft to fly directly into and out of Riyadh, though this was rare.
Crown Jewel’s main event featured Roman Reigns defeating Sami Zayn to claim the men’s Crown Jewel Championship. Additional matches included Chelsea Green capturing the women’s Crown Jewel Championship from Liv Morgan, only for the title to be relinquished to Tiffany Stratton; Penta and Je’Von Evans defeated The Vision to win the World Tag Team Championships; and Cody Rhodes overcame Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match.
