With WWE Crown Jewel 2026 slated for November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, mounting security concerns have reportedly led multiple Superstars to ask to be removed from the card.
Saudi officials have spent recent weeks assuring WWE that the premium live event can proceed as planned despite ongoing instability in the region.
Organizers recently shifted the event from a temporary venue to a more established facility, a move attributed to safety considerations rather than ticket demand. The new location previously hosted the WWE Royal Rumble; sources indicate Riyadh currently offers limited major indoor alternatives, with Kingdom Arena unavailable due to Al Hilal’s football schedule.
WWE’s production crew is expected to begin load-in shortly after the Canelo Álvarez boxing event on October 31. The venue is set to host three major events within a week: Power Slap, WWE Crown Jewel, and Zuffa Boxing.
Contrary to earlier reports that talent had not voiced objections, several high-profile performers have now reportedly informed management they will not travel, citing the potential risks associated with the trip.
One source indicated that even wrestlers currently advertised for the show have privately expressed apprehension to officials. Those individuals were reportedly told that safety protocols would remain the top priority throughout the visit.
WWE also plans to travel with a significantly reduced roster and crew. The company intends to limit the trip almost exclusively to talent booked for the event, with very few additional personnel making the journey.
Regarding contractual obligations, Saudi Arabia appearances have been written into talent deals for several years. However, most newer contracts reportedly no longer include the supplemental bonuses previously paid for participation in these events, though individual exceptions may apply.
