Xamuel’s Hard Techno Remix of Arctic Monkeys’ ‘505’ Dominates Summer Dance Festivals

A hard techno rework of Arctic Monkeys’ 2007 track “505” has gained significant traction at major dance festivals this summer, blending the band’s iconic sound with high-energy electronic production. The Dutch producer Xamuel has reimagined the “Favourite Worst Nightmare” album closer, infusing it with pounding kicks, industrial soundscapes, and a festival-ready drop. The remix has been widely shared on social media, with footage showing large crowds dancing to the track at techno events and festivals.

Xamuel initially previewed the remix on TikTok, asking followers for feedback: “I made an edit of Arctic Monkeys – 505 remix. What do you guys think?” The track has since been embraced by DJs, including TRYMs, who featured it at Verknipt Easter in Amsterdam and during a collaborative set with The Outlaw (DJ Snake’s harder alias) at Ultra Miami 2026.

The original “505,” written by Alex Turner, has long been a fan favorite and experienced renewed popularity after going viral on TikTok in 2022. Turner previously noted to *NME*, “The song’s become something else now… It’s amazing when something comes back in that way, or reaches people who weren’t there the first time around.” The track has remained a staple in Arctic Monkeys’ live performances, often serving as a climactic set closer. Miles Kane, who contributed guitar to the original, joined the band for a live rendition during their 2023 London Emirates Stadium shows.
