Uttar Pradesh fast bowler Yash Dayal is set to represent Chhattisgarh in the 2026‑27 domestic season, having secured his no‑objection certificate (NOC). He is already taking part in Chhattisgarh’s pre‑season camp in Alur, Karnataka.
In June 2026, Dayal was retained by the Gorakhpur Lions for the upcoming UP T20 League, which is scheduled to begin in August. He had started training with the franchise’s retained players during the off‑season. However, he was omitted from the 18‑member squad announced by the Lions after the auction. The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) declined to comment on his exclusion.
It is understood that Dayal had anticipated the possibility of not being selected and had already prepared to move to Chhattisgarh. BCCI regulations allow a player who has obtained an NOC to switch states without being barred from playing in T20 leagues in his original home state.
Chhattisgarh’s pre‑season camp also features India off‑spinner Jayant Yadav and Saurashtra all‑rounder Dharmendrasinh Jadeja. Jayant had previously represented Puducherry in the last domestic season.
Former India batter Amay Khurasiya has been appointed as Chhattisgarh’s head coach, overseeing the Alur camp. Khurasiya recently coached Kerala to the Ranji Trophy final in 2024‑25, where they lost to Vidarbha.
