Yemeni armed forces announced on Sunday that they conducted nearly 1,000 strikes against Iran‑backed Houthi forces as part of Operation Dawn of Yemen, targeting positions, reinforcements and equipment across multiple fronts. According to a military spokesperson, preliminary field reports indicated that approximately 267 Houthi commanders and fighters were killed, wounded, or forced to withdraw. The military also reported that 97 assets—including vehicles, artillery pieces and launch platforms—were destroyed or damaged, along with an unspecified number of positions and fortifications, while verification of the full casualty count continues. The operation included 19 airstrikes over the Marib, Taiz and Tur Al‑Bahah fronts and 29 drone strike missions aimed at Houthi positions, vehicles, weapons and equipment. Additionally, artillery and multiple‑launch rocket systems carried out 944 strikes against reinforcements, firing positions, fortifications and sniper locations. Ground units from the Sixth, Seventh and Third Military Regions continued operations on the Marib front, targeting Houthi positions and movements, while troops supported by the Popular Resistance repelled Houthi attacks and struck firing positions in Taiz. In Al‑Jawf, Emergency Forces and Nation’s Shield units reported further advances and mine‑clearance in recaptured areas, though specifics were not disclosed. On the southern and southwestern fronts, Nation’s Shield forces, the Giants Brigades and the National Resistance secured several positions, with fighting ongoing elsewhere. The armed forces emphasized that they are taking measures to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure throughout the campaign.
