Yves Tumor Rejects Abuse Claims, Announces Aggressive Legal Response

Allegations of sexual assault and abusive conduct involving Yves Tumor have circulated widely online over the past week. The artist, also known as Shanti or Sean Lee Bowie, has categorically denied the accusations.

The controversy began when images of a bruised woman appeared on the Yves Tumor subreddit accompanied by a detailed account alleging that Tumor had sexually assaulted someone close to the poster. The post described forceful groping, biting, physical restraint, and the claim that Tumor stepped on the woman’s head with his shoe. The poster noted the incident had been reported to police.

Following the initial report, additional allegations surfaced across social media. Musical artist Angel Money posted on X, formerly Twitter, stating Tumor groped her on camera during an album release event, sharing video footage as evidence. Further accounts of harassment and assault emerged on the artist’s subreddit. Kidä, a vocalist who contributed to Tumor’s track “Lovely Sewer” and toured with his band, published a thread describing her time on the road as “one of the most disrespectful professional experiences of my career.”

Addressing the claims via an Instagram story, Tumor characterized the allegations as “100% untrue and also completely heartbreaking,” adding that he “will be taking extreme legal action.”

Yves Tumor maintains scheduled appearances at the Bumbershoot festival and three dates opening for Turnstile.
