Zilla Fatu is set to contend for the WWE NXT World Championship at NXT: Heatwave, with the potential to make history should he emerge with the title.
Fatu was added to the championship match on this week’s WWE NXT episode, following his debut last week and the signing of his NXT contract.
A victory at Heatwave would see Fatu break the record for the swiftest transition from NXT debut to World Champion.
Ethan Page currently holds the record, having captured the NXT World Title just 40 days after his May 28 debut at Heatwave 2024.
If Fatu wins on August 30, his record-setting timeline would span just 19 days, from his August 11 NXT debut to the championship event.
Fatu will battle champion Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller, and Cruz Montana in a Fatal Four-Way Match. Page’s title victory at Heatwave also came via the same format.
Fatu revealed this week on NXT that a contractual clause guaranteed him a title shot as his televised debut, and he selected the NXT World Championship.
