First track dates and Season Launch details confirmed for MotoGP’s new era in 2027.
The 2027 MotoGP season officially commences with confirmed pre-season testing schedules and the Season Launch event in Brazil. Following the Valencia Test on December 1, 2026, which marked the debut of manufacturers’ new 850cc machines, riders will now have additional opportunities to prepare ahead of the Thai Grand Prix in Buriram from March 5th to 7th.
Pre-season testing begins at Malaysia’s Petronas Sepang International Circuit for two days of factory-specific testing (January 29–30), immediately followed by an official multi-rider test (January 31–February 1). The series then moves to Thailand for a second official test (February 6–7), before shifting to South America for the Season Launch on February 21st at Rio de Janeiro’s Botafogo Beach—a symbolic kickoff to the championship in one of the world’s most vibrant urban landscapes.
Key Pre-Season Events:
- SHAKEDOWN TEST: 29th – 30th JANUARY
- SEPANG TEST: 31st JANUARY – 1st FEBRUARY
- BURIRAM TEST: 6th – 7th FEBRUARY
- SEASON LAUNCH: 21st FEBRUARY
Moto2 and Moto3 pre-season testing will also occur at Spain’s Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto, with Moto2 conducting a private session (February 16–17) followed by an official test (February 20–21), while Moto3 hosts its sole official test (February 18–19).
