The Blaze kept their treble hopes very much alive as they beat Somerset in the Women’s One-Day Cup at Trent Bridge.

The Nottingham-based side now need just one win from their last two fixtures to guarantee a place in the final back on their home ground on 19 September.

However, their upcoming match presents a significant challenge as they face second-placed Hampshire, who have already secured their spot in the knockout stages. That crucial encounter is scheduled to take place in Southampton on Wednesday.

While The Blaze emerged victorious by six wickets, other teams in contention also recorded wins this round. Hampshire defeated Yorkshire by seven wickets, third-placed Warwickshire claimed victory, and Surrey triumphed over Essex by 118 runs. Despite these results, it was The Blaze—fresh from their T20 Blast and County Cup successes—who continued to demonstrate their dominance across formats.

Their win extends their five-point lead at the top of the 50-over standings. Behind them, Hampshire remains in second place, followed by Surrey and Lancashire, who narrowly defeated Durham by three runs at their new venue on the outskirts of Preston.
