A Palestinian man was killed in the village of Hajja, near Qalqilya in the West Bank, following overnight clashes with settlers, the Palestinian Authority’s Health Ministry reported Monday morning.
WAFA reported Sunday night that three Palestinians were wounded during the clash, two of them seriously after being shot.
All three were transferred to a hospital for treatment, according to WAFA.
The clashes follow a recent increase in settler violence against Palestinians, with the most significant escalation ongoing in Kusra in the northern West Bank.
In mid-August, dozens of settler extremists clashed with the IDF near Kusra after the military evacuated an unauthorized outpost in the area.
Police arrested a 19-year-old from the Shomron area first; a search of his vehicle revealed an airsoft rifle, a knife, a penknife, and tear gas.
Authorities later located a second suspect, an 18-year-old from the Jordan Valley who was serving in mandatory IDF duty.
