Domhnall Gleeson’s ‘The Incomer’ Hits Theaters This September

Best known for his roles in Ex Machina and the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Domhnall Gleeson has built a reputation for delivering iconic performances over the past few years. He currently stars as Ned Sampson in the Peacock series The Paper, a spin‑off of the beloved sitcom The Office. While set in the same universe, the show introduces an almost entirely new cast, with only a few familiar faces. All episodes of Season 2 were released as a binge last week, and the streaming service has yet to confirm whether the series will continue beyond its second season. Regardless, Gleeson’s standing as a brilliant actor remains indisputable.

Later this month, Gleeson returns to the big screen with the premiere of The Incomer, a whimsical fantasy slated for September 25. Following the release of its official trailer, Collider has partnered with Sumerian Pictures to offer an exclusive sneak peek at the film, which also features Gayle Rankin, Grant O’Rourke, Emun Elliot, Michelle Gomez and John Hannah. The official synopsis for The Incomer reads: “Sundance Award‑winning comedy, The Incomer is a modern folk fairy tale set on a remote Scottish island, where two siblings survive by hunting seabirds, retelling the stories of their ancestors, and defending the isle from dreaded Incomers. Their world is upended with the arrival of an awkward council worker who has come to uproot them from their homeland on behalf of the government.”

Last year, Domhnall Gleeson teamed up with veteran action director Guy Ritchie for Fountain of Youth, a film billed as a mash‑up of Indiana Jones and Uncharted. The movie began streaming on Apple TV in May 2025, and it has remained in the platform’s top‑10 for more than 250 days. Co‑starring John Krasinski and Natalie Portman, the project has become a must‑watch hit ahead of Gleeson’s upcoming release, The Incomer.
