Delhi, 27 October: India all-rounder Deepti Sharma and opener Pratika Rawal have surged in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings following their dominant performances against Zimbabwe, while captain Smriti Mandhana has slipped from the top batting position.
Deepti’s exceptional all-round contributions in India’s ongoing ICC Women’s Championship series against Zimbabwe propelled her up the ranks. The right-hander ascended four positions to 23rd in batting, moved up one spot to eighth in bowling, and advanced two places to fourth in the all-rounders’ category.
India have overwhelmingly dominated the three-match ODI series in Vadodara, securing the first two games by nine wickets and 121 runs respectively to clinch an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Deepti Sharma Climbs in All Three ODI Rankings
Deepti emerged as one of India’s most impactful performers in the series, claiming five wickets across the opening two matches before delivering a match-winning century in the second ODI.
Her 106 off 86 balls not only strengthened India’s series position but also highlighted her utility as a batting all-rounder. This form has translated into upward movement across all three ICC ODI rankings, with Deepti now sitting fourth among all-rounders.
Harmanpreet Kaur also capitalized on her innings prowess, struck 126 off 121 deliveries in the second ODI, boosting her ranking by two positions to eighth in the women’s ODI batting standings.
Pratika Rawal Reaches Career-Best ODI Ranking
Pratika Rawal has solidified her place in India’s batting hierarchy, climbing seven positions to a career-high 21st in the ODI batting rankings with 598 rating points.
Rawal scored her third ODI century in the series opener, compiling 100 off 96 balls, and followed it with a resilient 61 off 67 deliveries in the second ODI, ensuring India maintained its commanding lead.
Shafali Verma also recorded significant progress, advancing 15 positions to 73rd in the batting rankings.
Smriti Mandhana Loses Top Spot to Laura Wolvaardt
Smriti Mandhana’s form dipped to second in the ODI batting rankings after scoring 32 and 0 in the first two matches against Zimbabwe.
Her decline allowed South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt to reclaim the top spot—the ninth separate occasion in her career—marking her first return to the summit since November 2025.
India pacer Kranti Gaud also gained momentum, rising two places to 25th in the bowling rankings after taking 3/43 in the opening ODI, and three spots to 33rd in the all-rounders’ list.
Zimbabwe Players Make Gains in ODI Rankings
Despite India’s dominance, several Zimbabwean players earned recognition for their individual efforts.
Modester Mupachikwa rose five places to a career-best 39th in batting with 508 points, while Chipo Mugeri-Tiripana climbed four positions to 47th. Beloved Biza advanced 16 places to a career-high 56th, accumulating 431 rating points.
Shafali Verma Moves Up in Women’s T20I Rankings
In the T20I rankings, Shafali Verma ascended one position to third after India’s third T20I against Zimbabwe. Mandhana also gained a spot to fourth, trailing Verma by just three points with 753 rating points.
Nandani Sharma surged 13 places to 32nd in the T20I bowling rankings after securing 3/18 in the third match. Kranti Gaud moved up five positions to 38th following her 1/19 spell.
Australia Players Rise After New Zealand T20I Series
Australia’s T20I series against New Zealand concluded with the third match abandoned, though the hosts had already secured the series after winning the first two games.
Ash Gardner’s 84 off 45 balls in the second T20I vaulted her nine places to 19th in the batting rankings. Georgia Wareham advanced four positions to joint-seventh in the bowling rankings after claiming 3/18 in the same match.
Kim Garth re-entered the top 10, climbing five places to joint-10th in the bowling standings, while New Zealand bowlers Bree Illing and Nensi Patel each improved six spots to 17th and 29th respectively.
