Devo and the B-52’s have expanded their Cosmic De-Evolution Tour, announcing eight additional tour dates. Following what appeared to be a conclusion to their run in London and Manchester this past weekend, the co-headlining tour will now extend to various arenas and amphitheaters, including stops in Seattle, Vancouver, and Grand Rapids. DJ Cummerbund is slated to open the new performances. The updated itinerary is provided below.
The two legendary acts seem to be entering a friendly competition with Bob Dylan for the most enduring tour itinerary, characterized by a series of gradual extensions. Devo initially announced their farewell in 2023 and most recently expanded their schedule this past February, while the B-52’s have been billing their performances as a farewell tour since 2022.
Regarding the 2025 tour expansion, B-52’s frontman Fred Schneider noted, “We were careful to say to our fans that we would still perform in special situations that don’t require all of the awful tour travel.” This aligns with his 2019 announcement that while the band would retire from “major tours,” they would continue to appear at festivals and select gigs. Since then, the group has completed a lengthy Las Vegas residency and performed numerous shows across North America and Europe.
