The development team has identified multiple pain points—stagnant expansion, attenuated trading depth, sparse institutional interest, and a modest DeFi footprint—as the drivers behind its decision to cease operations.
“Even after realizing eight figures in losses, we was able to stage a token launch or conduct an ICO. Yet ultimately, we chose not to proceed,” wrote Netzer on X.
Netz clarified that Igloo would now concentrate its entire effort on Pudgy Penguins, its digital collectibles franchise, and PENGU—the native crypto linked to the brand. “It is no longer justifiable to siphon resources from the Pudgy Penguins business,” he added.
