Carlos Alcaraz has claimed his first title since returning from a right wrist injury, securing victory at the Japan Open.
The world No. 2, who last reached a final in April before losing to Jannik Sinner at the Monte-Carlo Masters, successfully defended his Tokyo crown by defeating Jiri Lehecka 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.
Having returned to competition in late August, Alcaraz reached the US Open quarter-finals before falling to Ben Shelton in a marathon match that concluded at 3:33 a.m.
The Australian Open champion becomes the first man to back-to-back Japan Open titles since Pete Sampras in 1994 and has been sporting a compression sleeve on his right arm throughout his comeback.
