Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) announced plans to hire more than 300,000 seasonal, part-time, and full-time workers across its U.S. core operations network in preparation for the upcoming holiday season.
The move follows Amazon’s ongoing investment in wages and benefits for its U.S. operations team. Seasonal hires will earn an average of $20 per hour, while full-time core operations employees start at a minimum of $20 per hour. Average hourly pay across the core operations workforce is nearly $24, and total average compensation for full-time employees—including benefits—exceeds $32 per hour.
Seasonal employees who work at least 30 hours per week will qualify for healthcare coverage starting January 1, 2027, with plans beginning at $5 per week and $5 copays.
Amazon stated that new job openings will be posted weekly from October through December.
Amazon shares closed nearly flat at $262.63 on Tuesday on the Nasdaq.
