Arsenal have secured Spanish goalkeeper Misa Rodríguez on a free transfer, marking their sixth summer acquisition.
The 27‑year‑old arrives at the Women’s Super League club after departing Real Madrid at the conclusion of the previous season.
She will don the number 16 jersey and vie for playing time alongside Daphne van Domselaar and Anneke Borbe, both of whom were hampered by injuries last campaign.
“I’m incredibly proud to join this great club. Arsenal is among the world’s elite, and I’m thrilled to be part of the squad and embrace this new challenge,” Rodríguez said.
“My aim is to help the team chase silverware and create more history alongside our supporters.”
During her six‑year stint at Real Madrid, Rodríguez amassed 215 appearances—a club record—and was named captain last season.
Since her senior debut for Spain in 2021, she has earned 34 caps, including three appearances in Spain’s victorious 2023 Women’s World Cup run, although she has subsequently been superseded as first‑choice keeper by Barcelona’s Cata Coll.
Arsenal have been active in the transfer market ahead of the 2026‑27 Women’s Super League campaign, adding Georgia Stanway, Ona Batlle, Selina Cerci, Geraldine Reuteler and Lisa Baum to Renee Slegers’ squad.
Last season the Gunners finished second in the WSL and advanced to the semi‑finals of the Women’s Champions League.
