Arsenal launched their Premier League title defence with a commanding victory over promoted Coventry on Friday evening, setting a confident tone for the campaign ahead.
While the squad appears largely settled—especially following the arrival of Ezri Konsa—manager Mikel Arteta is unlikely to remain idle if opportunities arise to fine-tune the team before the transfer window closes.
Should Arsenal look to make further additions to the squad, they may need to generate funds through player departures. One name that could feature in such discussions is Gabriel Martinelli.
Transfer expert David Ornstein provided an update on the player’s situation yesterday:
Al Hilal are actively pursuing a deal to sign Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, with the Saudi Pro League club currently in discussions with the player’s camp regarding the potential transfer.
Arsenal are reportedly seeking a fee of approximately £60 million for the Brazilian winger. Although no agreement has been finalized, negotiations are ongoing, and the player is understood to be open to the move.
Martinelli remains under contract with Arsenal until 2027, with the club holding a 12-month extension option. While Arsenal would consider a substantial offer, the player himself is not actively pushing for an exit from North London.
